Privacy Policy for ChilDecor Light

Data used by the app
To find and control compatible lights, the app reads the board name, Bluetooth address and connection status and sends power, brightness, timer and clock synchronization commands directly to the board over Bluetooth. The app stores selected board addresses and names, last brightness, control state, timer settings, language choice and whether the first-run guide has been shown on the device. These settings support reconnection and restore the app's controls and timer.
On Android 8–11, Android requires location permission for Bluetooth discovery. The app uses this permission only to find nearby lights; it does not read GPS coordinates, determine the user's location or store movement history. On newer Android versions, the app requests nearby device scanning and connection permissions.
Sharing and external services
The app does not require an account, include advertising or analytics tools, or send the listed light settings to ChilDecor servers. Commands go directly to compatible boards over Bluetooth. We do not sell data obtained through the app.
When a user chooses to open the ChilDecor store or the YouTube video guide, the link opens in an external browser or app. The relevant service's privacy policy governs its data processing. If a user emails us, we receive the sender's email address and message content to respond to the request.
Android may include the app's locally stored settings in a device backup if the user enables system backup. Backup access and retention depend on Android settings and the backup provider.
Retention, deletion and security
App settings remain on the device until the user clears app data or uninstalls the app. A system backup may remain separately under the device's backup settings. The app does not create an account that needs separate deletion. To request deletion of support correspondence, email support@childecor.com; we will review deletion requests for data we actually hold, subject to applicable legal obligations.
Access to local app data is controlled by Android's device protections. Bluetooth is used to interact with the lights. If the app's features or data practices change, we will update this page and its effective date.
