Why choose handmade nursery decor as a gift

Start with the parents' registry if they have one. If they welcome decor, a handmade piece lets you choose a color, texture, or name that belongs in their room. Night lights and mobiles also give you different ways to match a nursery theme without guessing which everyday supplies the family still needs.

Gifts under $40: nursery night lights

A wall light can be a thoughtful option when you know the parents' nursery colors but do not want to choose a very specific theme. The simplest versions of the two lights below start at about $35; larger configurations cost more.

Gifts from about $48 to $60: mobiles and personalized lights

This group includes felt and bouclé mobiles as well as custom-name wall lights. Choose a mobile when you know the nursery theme; choose personalization only when the baby's name and spelling are confirmed.

Gifts from about $67 to $70: larger designs

For a shared gift, these designs offer more detail or a larger wall arrangement. Check the selected variant before deciding what fits your budget.

12. Cloud and Star Night Light Set: about $70. A cloud wall-light set with different cloud and star configurations; check the selected variant for included pieces.

How to choose the right one

If you do not know the nursery colors, ask the parents or check their registry before choosing a statement piece. A simple cloud light offers a less specific look; a botanical, floral, or sheep mobile works best when it fits a known theme. For a custom-name light, confirm the exact spelling before ordering.

Frequently asked questions

How much should you spend on a baby shower gift?

Choose an amount that fits your own budget and the parents' registry. In this guide, the lowest-priced options start at about $35; a few guests can also share the cost of a larger design.

Are handmade baby gifts better than store-bought ones?

Neither is automatically better. A handmade nursery piece offers choices of color, texture, or personalization; a practical registry item may be more useful if the parents have asked for it.

What if the parents already have a baby registry?

Use their registry as your starting point. If you want to add nursery decor, check the room colors, available wall space, and whether the parents want a mobile or light.

Can you personalize a baby shower gift before the baby is named?

If the name is not confirmed, choose a non-personalized light or mobile. Once the parents share the name and spelling, you can order a custom-name light.

Does ChilDecor ship in time for a baby shower?

ChilDecor pieces are made to order, with typical production taking 1 to 3 business days before shipping. Delivery time is additional, so check the current estimate on the product page and order early for a fixed shower date.
